Elder-Millennial Mentorship in Action
Bridging Generations in Leadership
Identifying as a “wise elder-millennial mentor” I feel I bring a fresh, honest, transparent perspective to the way we navigate the whole notion of “what it means to be a professional” in today’s workforce and society. I have a keen sense for navigating the ever-changing landscape of healthcare, the way we deliver higher-education, and the personal and professional development journeys of emerging leaders.
With over two decades of dynamic experience spanning every facet of the healthcare continuum in Ontario, I've witnessed the ever-evolving challenges our diverse population faces. Proudly registered with the OCSWSSW since 2012, and a member of the CCHL since 2019, I've honed my skills as a Transformational Leader with an evidence-based approach to everything I do. Being part of the elusive 1-2% INFJ Meyer’s Briggs personality club, I bring a unique blend of empathy and “outside the box” strategic thinking to the table.
From tackling complex Alternate Level of Care (ALC) systems & Patient Flow Hospital Operations, to mastering high-risk Case Management for the older adult population, I've dedicated 23+ years of professional life to understanding the barriers and inefficiencies of our healthcare system, quality improvement strategies and methodologies, but most importantly... exploring the "the bigger picture" of navigating the workforce for today's young and emerging professionals.
My newest life mission, and raw genuine passion lives in providing mentorship, and supporting the personal and professional development journeys of international students, and young professionals entering the social and public services workforce. I find an incredible amount of reward and satisfaction in supporting people to achieve their goals, and to help them see their fullest potential in themselves. I have been teaching at the college level for nearly 7-years, and genuinely cannot get enough of it. I thrive on seeking new and exciting challenges that push the boundaries of my personal and professional growth too. I firmly believe that no one ever accomplished anything impactful by simply “going with the flow;” I’ve been (patient) “flowing” for far too long, and it’s time to officially challenge the status quo, and step outside of that dangerous comfort zone!
